2006: Took the field for 17 matches for the Cards during her sophomore campaign, starting four. Scored what turned out to be the game winner against Xavier (9/10) on her only shot of the match. Converted her PK in shootout against West Virginia in the BIG EAST Championship(10/29). Competed at the World University Games in Bangkok, Thailand for Ireland, setting up the game winner in an upset of Germany. Made AD Honor Roll, Dean's List, was a Red and Black Scholar and a BIG EAST Academic All-Star.
2005: Wasted no time jumping into college soccer, picking up a goal and an assist 25 minutes into her career, helping the Cards to a 2-0 win over Butler in the season opener (8/26). Played in all 19 games, starting 17 for U of L as a first-year student-athlete. Was third on the team in goals(4) and points(12), while placing second in assists(4). Set up Monique Gjini's game-winner against Miami (8/28). Scored the deciding goal against WKU (9/11). Scored two goals and added an assist in four matches against ranked teams, putting the Cards on top 1-0 in three of those contests. Sixteen of her 31 shots were on goal. Made the AD Honor Roll and Dean's List, while also being named a Red and Black Scholar Athlete.
High School: Was a three-year letterwinner for the Holy Angels as a forward on the soccer team. Twice named All-State, three times All-Area, four times All-Conference as well as conference Player of the Year as a senior. Scored 77 goals in four seasons, including 24 as a junior and 25 her senior campaign. Three time offensive MVP. A six-year member of the ODP State Team, captaining the team the last five years. Played eight seasons with the FC Milwaukee Nationals. On the regional team in `01 and `02 and Regional Pool in `03 and `04. Three-time Interscholastic Athlete Award winner.
Personal: Born in Milwaukee on 6/22/87 to Brendan and Mary Smyth. Has two older brothers. Plans on majoring in exercise science. Her mom has the greatest influence on her athletically. Likes playing the drums, photography, reading and watching movies like Napoleon Dynamite and Ferris Bueller's Day Off in her spare time. King of Queens and Oprah are her favorite TV shows. Lance Armstrong and Thierry Henry are her favorite athletes. Would like to be joined by Armstrong, her grandparents and Jesus for a dream dinner. Her brother Kevin is a rugby player at UWM.
