Louisville, Ky. - Yuliya Tokova's basketball career at the University of Louisville has come to an end announced head coach Jeff Walz. Tokova suffered several injuries during her college career and will earn a medical hardship for the upcoming season.

"We are all disappointed that Yuliya will not return for her senior season," said Walz. "She is an outstanding young woman who has represented the University of Louisville well during her career. Yuliya will still be involved in our basketball program as she continues toward her degree completion."

Tokova sat out the 2007-08 season after having a herniated lumbar disc repaired in December of 2007. She has suffered a recurrence of the disorder and team doctors have ruled her unable participate during the 2008-09 season.

Tokova played in 92 games and started in 49 during her three seasons at Louisville. She started in 12 games her freshman year stepping into the lineup for the injured Missy Taylor. She averaged 6.3 points and 4.7 rebounds per game before going down with an ACL during the Conference USA Tournament.

During her junior year, Tokova started in all 35 games before going down with another ACL in the final game of the season. She averaged 6.9 points and 5.7 rebounds in her final season. She finishes her career averaging 6.2 points and 4.9 rebounds per game.
