Former University of Louisville forward Marco Terminesi has been selected as a 2007-08 BIG EAST/Aeropostale Institutional Male Scholar-Athlete Award winner, entitling him to $2,000 toward graduate studies. A winner is selected from each of the 16 BIG EAST institutions with an overall winner earning a $4000 scholarship. Jeremy Stultz was chosen as the 2007-08 BIG EAST/Aéropostale Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year. The selection was made by the Conference's Academic Affairs Committee.
Terminesi finished his senior year as the Cardinals' leading scorer this season with eight goals and three assists for 19 points. He also finished this season with two game-winning goals. Terminesi helped the Cardinals to their first BIG EAST Tournament appearance and helped the team advance in penalty kicks to the semifinals.
He provided the assist that helped the Cardinals advance against Duke in their firs NCAA Tournament appearance. Terminesi finished his career with 13 goals and 10 assists for 36 points.
The BIG EAST/Aéropostale Scholar-Athlete Awards were established to recognize student-athletes who have achieved success in the classroom and on the field. Aéropostale sponsors all of the conference's academic awards for graduate or professional school studies and has provided apparel items to all participants at men's and women's BIG EAST Championship events. In addition, the BIG EAST/Aéropostale Administrative Fellowship Program provides a qualified former student-athlete the opportunity to work at the BIG EAST Conference office to learn the essential elements of athletics administration. Aéropostale and the BIG EAST have been partners since 1999.
